Galaxy Remote Keyfob

hi, has anyone of you guys had problems with programming a new remote keyfob. i have managed to 'code' the key , but cant seem to programme the keyfob. i have the owners manual and followed the instructions, but had no joy. is there some thing that the handbook doesnt mention? any suggestions ?

Isn't the next step to obtain a 7-digit SKC (Security Key Code) from the dealer and then use VAG-COM to program it in??

 

The MAJOR problem now being that the dealers can't tell you what the code is anymore because they receive the code encrypted direct from VW and even they don't know what it is!!

 

I hope I'm wrong though because this is why I've not bothered picking up a new key from EBAY and getting it cut and then using my VAG-COM to set it up.

i tried it this way and it didnt work , so tried it again and the red door light stayed on and it took the code ,

but like boggler says , it does take timing lol

..think I am going to have to change the battereis in my remote key soon, and I'm dreading it - hope the key remains synchronised :blink:

hi, many thanx to you all for your help. keyfob now sorted and working 100%. strangely enough i had to turn the door lock clockwise , and not counter clockwise -as suggested in the handbook, for the processs to start.

now for my next headache - try to get the compresssor clutch to engage, when the climate control aircon is switched on. its got plenty of gas in it , and gets a live feed when aircon is switched on - any suggestions guys - maybe tap it with a hammer - ala sticking starter motors?

I Have changed the batterie in mine any coded it for the doors but now it wont start the car?? any ideas please

only possibility here is if you have lost the little black pats chip from the fob (or moved it so itS not close enough to the lock (unlikely))

Chip is there, I have only one ket that has a code now (one with out the remote locking) how much should i expect to pay from ford the have my other key reprogramed?? (programed it myself to open the doors) just wont start the car.

changing the batteries should not affet the programming on the pats chip - not powered by the battery, Ford will probably charge 1 hour

Got a new key blade and fob off ebay last week fob coded straight away no problems couldn't code for immobiliser turned out chip was faulty. I would however recommend this ebay seller as a quick email to tell him it was faulty and he managed to get me another one later that day and sent it out 1st class next day, arrived following day (same as original blade and fob) and it was coming from ireland. Good price as well i thought cost me less than 40 quid including delivery and it was all brand new.

sellers details try emailing him for items if not for sale as he didn't have any chips for sale but was able to get me one.
